BASED empowers European startups that enhance security and defence.
Security creates social cohesion and is the basis for economic success and European integration. The aim of BASED is to strengthen the technological and security policy sovereignty of Germany and Europe through innovative technological solutions from start-ups that meet the security needs of modern societies without contributing to the escalation of conflicts. To this end, BASED connects start-ups with established companies, investors, research institutions and political and social actors from the fields of security and defense. In order to unlock potential for security and defense, BASED promotes exchange across industries and technology fields. BASED has been part of the Digital Hub Initiative of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection since September 2024.
