Munich Security Breakfast 2025: Shaping Europe's Defense Innovation: As the world faces new geopolitical challenges, collaboration between startups, industry, and defense institutions is more crucial than ever.

On February 13, 2025, the day before the Munich Security Conference, BASED played a key role in the Munich Security Breakfast—an exclusive Event in the context of the Munich Security Conference focused on driving innovation in European defense and dual-use technology.
With more than 350 guests from startups, venture capital, private equity, industry, and the public sector, the event served as a crucial platform for discussions on defense innovation and strategies to foster dual-use startups in Europe.
ENGAGING PANELS, HIGH-PROFILE KEYNOTES AND OPPORTUNITIES TO EXCHANGE
The event was facilitated by Kerry Hoppe and Prof. Dr. Nadine Chochoiek, who led the discussions throughout the morning. The organizers behind this impactful Event were our very own Lippold von Oldershausen and Matthias Hoffmann of Arx Robotics, both founders and reserve officers themselves, highlighting the potential of the Defense Sector and the army reserves in Europe.

As official startup partner, BASED secured the the visibility of around 100 startups from across Europe and other NATO states. These startups, operating in the defense and dual-use sectors, gained direct exposure to investors, industry leaders, and policymakers.
The event was further enhanced by the presence of key partners: McKinsey & Company, Capgemini, and Quantum Systems, along with Arx Robotics and Hologate, who showcased their latest innovations through dedicated booths. IICM played a vital role in connecting startups with potential investors.

By fostering meaningful collaborations and promoting investment in emerging defense technologies, the Munich Security Breakfast 2025 successfully set the stage for greater innovation and resilience in the European defense ecosystem.
